Photography runs in my blood. I'm fortunate enough to remember a time when each photo had to be perfect because film was expensive and you only had 24 shots. I have memories of watching my parents work in their dark room for hours, experiencing with them the anticipation of developing photos to see the results. But I'm not going to feed you some soppy story of how I've always loved photography and that it's been a life long dream since I was little. Because in fact, I didn't know anything about being a photographer and wasn't the least bit interested. I wanted to become an actress. Or singer. Or just famous.

...and I went on to complete a teaching degree at the University of Pretoria. I put my heart and soul into teaching high school students for 5 years, and loved it. I'm so grateful for everything that teaching has taught me, but I came to the realization that I had changed somehow. It wasn't until I reached my mid-twenties and travelled through Europe with a cheap 6 megapixel point-and-shoot camera that my interest in photography again sparked. I came back to South Africa with a mission: to buy a proper camera! I remember my ''ah-ha'' moment, lying awake in the middle of the night and nudging my very sleepy husband to wake up. I finally knew what I wanted to do with my life: be a photographer... to which he bleakly replied, ''uh-huh''.

It still feels unreal that this has become a reality, but I have the unending support of my husband and you, my clients, to thank. That's why I feel that I owe you my best work. I still have that same excited feeling every time I finish a photo shoot and I catch myself smiling at the moments I've captured. I love the adventure my camera promises and I will share that with the world!

You're here for a reason. You don't just want a professional, but someone who's passionate and easy to work with. I know we'll have a lot of fun and make magic memories together, so get in touch and let me be your photographer!
